It is lacquered brass with nickel inner slides and bracing, mechanical linkage, mar-1-cb40-9-1can stand in Bb or F, mar-1-cb40-4-1and has a Kruspe design bell section, and I assume a slightly different first branch than the Knopf/Geyer horns of this vintage may have had. The horn is in excellent condition. Very shiny and clean. mar-1-cb40-10-1The compression is excellent. It has no lacquer loss except where the owner’s ring finger scuffed it away on the grip area (see pics)mar-1-cb40-11-1.  A serious horn for a serious player. Comes in a large wooden factory case with gold plated latches (mostly worn off). One small dent,mar-1-cb40-6-1

A fellow player kindly sent me this info: “I know a bit about these after much research. It’s a Canadian Brass CB40 horn, made by VMI (parent company of Hoyer) for they were marketed in N. America by Getzen. They were made beginning in 1993 and discontinued a few years thereafter. I don’t know the exact dates.” $2450.00  SOLD

Very few were made.

Last,  a Yamaha Model YHR 567 Double French horn in excellent playing condition, serial # 007840, made in Japan. It has been screw belled using a Yamaha ringset. The lacquer has been removed, so it will oxidize over time unless you wipe the horn down after usage.567d-feb17-3-1 It can be polished with any good kitchen Copper/silver cleaner or the likes of Brasso.  The compression is very good and it plays very well. You can see this is not the mintiest specimen. 567d-feb17-10-1It has had dent work done on the bell,  It has some small dents & dings. Not mint but still a solid functioning, great playing horn with the desirability of the detachable bell.   Otherwise it will be shipped in a hoyer upright detachable case in good functioning condition. $2200.00  SOLD567d-feb17-4-1
