Meister Walter Monnig Kruspe wrap Horn
Meister Walter Monnig professional Kruspe wrap w/ Bb tuning slide double french horn. Serial # 244. This horn was made in the 1960’s, in Markneukirchen, East Germany. It has a rich tone, the slides all move freely, as do the valves. There is definitely some wear and dents and signs of previous work throughout the horn, but nothing that affects the way it plays. It plays well, in tune across Bb to F sides, and can stand in either Bb or F, currently in F. I’ll set it to stand in Bb if you so desire. It will ship in a hardshell case. This horn was produced in the same region of Germany as the famed Kruspe horns. Meister Walter Monnig horns were one of the four principal brands produced at the B&S Factory in Markneukerchen Germany under the DDR. The others were Kruspe, Knopf and Hoyer. The bell on the horn shows original engraving. The horn has a raw brass patina that can be shined to a beautiful brass finish if desired.
